October Sports Bowl by Micheal Gabriel, Julian Malagon, and James Orbein, Sports, November 12, 2008
Julian: I think its important we get this out of the way before we start. The Phillies won the World Series… who cares?
Michael: Says the Red Sox fan…
Julian: Sir, you cannot talk unless you have the Magic Talking Pretzel Stick.
James: Why don’t we have a civilized conversation?
Julian: Why don’t we kick James out?
Michael: Because he is a Lakers’ fan, and he is holding the talking pretzel stick. The Heat started off the season with a new lineup and coach. Thoughts?
James: When you score 115 points during a game and still lose to the Knicks, you know you need a better defense.
Michael: Actually, when you lose to the Knicks, you know you need a better defense.
James: So the Lakers are looking great this season, they have solid players on every position, and a sixth man in Lamar Odom that would easily start on any other team.
Julian: Despite that, they have become the New York Yankees of basketball.
James: Its funny how the Lakers weren’t expected to play well until last year; after all, Kobe wanted to be traded.
Michael: The Knicks are a total mess. They have Stephon Marbury sitting on the bench making twenty million a year. If any team is the Yankees of basketball, it is definitely the Knicks.
Julian: Whatever, lets move on. I can’t win this argument with two Lakers fans. Will the Heat make the playoffs?
James: I think they will get the 7th or 8th seat.
Michael: Nope. I don’t see them going far. I just don’t like Dwyane Wade’s approach towards the game. He lacks the ability to take over a game the way he used to in 06.
James: That’s what I love about Kobe Bryant, he knows when to take over and when to let the team work.
Julian: The Spurs are going to surprise everyone this season.
James: I don’t see it. They are too old, remember the series against the Lakers last season? They cant keep up with the younger teams anymore.
